The second half of Romans is traditionally a tougher portion of scripture to wrestle with. Therefore, in the For You series, Tim Keller has taken Romans and provided a "For you - part 1" and a "For you - part 2".
Part 2 covers the chapters on election, God's sovereignty and also governmental submission and authority. As you can see, this is no easy task to commentate on. However, Keller lets the the scriptures do the talking and does not sway away from what the bible says.
Of course, there are differing opinions and interpretations but you will find this volume to be simple, easily understood and faithful to the text.
This commentary is personal, applicable, readable and quotable. You will not find yourself scratching your head trying to understand theological jargon or concepts that make you squint to try and make sense. These "For You" volumes are meant to be personal guide for the scriptures so that church members can better understand both the passages of scriptures related to the volume, and also the entire theme of the scriptures being Jesus-centered and redemption-focused.
I believe readers will find this volume along with the others to be a great companion to their daily bible study.
Thank you to Cross Focused Reviews for the copy. I was not required to write a positive review.
